Due to disruptions in European air travel, Juho Pohjonen, was unable to fly to Vancouver from his home in Helsinki to play this concert. He was replaced by pianist, Hong Xu.

Juho Pohjonen proved himself to be a singular pianist of exceptional qualities in his Canadian debut on this series in 2007-08. Leila Getz re-engaged him on the spot (even before his concert at the Playhouse) when she heard him practicing Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit for a future engagement.
